1/4" Hex Impact Driver Bits

When using a 1/4-inch impact driver, be sure to use impact rated fastener bits too.

1/4" hex impact bit buying guide

Note: An impact driver isn’t always in impact mode. There is a level of resistance before the impact mode engages. Non-impact rated bits can handle light duty work where there isn’t enough resistance for the  to start, but when the impact mode does eventually kick in, the pounding effect is too much for a standard bits material strength to handle.

The major tool manufacturers: Milwaukee Tool, DeWALT, and Makita have their line of impact rated bits, which can be found at major home improvement stores.

If your lucky enough to have a tool house in the area that carries many tools a large box store doesn’t, you may find brands like: Bahco, Wera (Impaktor series bits), or Qualtool (Qryptonite) – I personally use these and they have great longevity.
